Healthy Homes Training

Linn County Public Health (LCPH) is hosting a comprehensive training on healthy homes for those whose professions provide in home services such as nurses, social workers, housing authorities, health educators, and other social service agencies.

This training will present the National Center for Healthy Housing basic principles for a healthy home along with how to identify specific household hazards and understanding the impact of hazards on residential health. In addition, LCPH will provide a local perspective on childhood lead poisoning and asthma.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
  • List one contaminant or allergen that is frequently found in house dust and its health effect
  • Name the three most common home injury related causes of death
  • Identify at least two strategies to reduce allergens or contaminates in house dust
  • Name two ways to prevent home injury
Cost / Payment:
The cost per registrant is $50.00, this includes student manual.

Continuing Education Credits: Nursing and Social Worker CEU approval is in progress. Participants must attend the entire program to receive full credit.
