January is Radon Action Month

posted Jan 14, 2015, 7:33 AM by Healthy Homes [ updated Jan 14, 2015, 8:37 AM ]
In Iowa all 99 counties are in Zone 1 for radon. This means our average indoor radon is more likely to be above the EPA acceptable level of 4.0 pCi/L. Radon is colorless and odorless and the only way to know if you have radon in your home is to test for it. January is Radon Action Month in Iowa and that means it is a great time to test your home!

Testing your home is cheap and easy. Do-it-yourself test kits can purchased through Linn County Healthy Homes. CLICK HERE

Do-it-yourself test kits can also be purchased at Linn County Public Health, 501 13th Street NW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. At this time, only cash or checks are accepted. If you have any questions on how to use the test kits, please contact us at (319) 892-6000.
